Naraka Bladepoint Bloodsport

Prepare for 1v1 duels in new Naraka: Bladepoint Bloodsport game mode

There's no one to to help you now

In Naraka: Bladepoint, you’re constantly engaging in intense duels around Morus Isle. However, 1v1 battles often get interrupted by opportunistic enemies looking for an easy kill. So, developer 24 Entertainment decided to create a new Naraka: Bladepoint game mode called Bloodsport, where your one-on-one duels won’t get interrupted. You don’t have to wait long for the new mode because it releases tomorrow, October 14.

Bloodsport is inspired by the movie of the same name, and it features a series of 1v1 matchups to the death. There are a total of 16 players in each Bloodsport match. So, you need to win four fights to be crowned champion of the entire match.

The rules of Bloodsport

The new Naraka: Bladepoint game mode is all about melee combat. You could see it as a way to practice fighting in the battle royale, without the need to loot and find enemies around the island. There are no ranged weapons in the Bloodsport game mode.

The announcement is a little unclear on the hero selection details. It either says that you won’t be able to choose the same character or weapon as your opponent, or it’s saying that you won’t be able to use the same hero and weapon in consecutive battles. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

You can see an image of the hero selection screen for the final of Bloodsport match below. It looks like you will be able to choose between three heroes with a designated weapon. Whether these are the hero and weapon combinations you used in the previous three rounds, or whether they’re completely random, remains to be seen.

Another rule for Naraka: Bladepoint Bloodsport is a 75 second time limit to prevent players from running indefinitely. All players will also have increased melee resistance to foster an environment where battles flow back and forth, so one mistake won’t necessarily mean your death. You will be able to use character abilities. However, Ultimates are disabled.

If you would like some pointers to help you battle to the top of Bloodsport, check out my Naraka: Bladepoint gameplay and combat guide. It was created for the battle royale mode. However, almost all of the tips will help you win fights in Bloodsport too.

Naraka: Bladepoint is available for PC via Steam.
