Today Square Enix and Eidos Montreal released seven new screenshots and three new pieces of concept art for Thief, the reboot of the legendary stealth series that saw its last installment in 2004. Thief is the Canadian studio’s first full game since the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution in 2011 (they also developed mobile spinoff Deus Ex: The Fall and the multi-player portion of this year’s Tomb Raider reboot).
We haven’t seen a lot of Thief in some time, besides the pre-rendered trailer. These new screenshots (taken from early game mission “Lockdown”) show Garrett practicing his patented brand of skullduggery, sneaking around, pilfering masks and picking pockets, and also engaging in what look to be some more combat-oriented situations. The screens are a mix of third person and first person (sure to be the choice of hardcore Thief fans) viewpoints. The concept art consists mostly of buildings – very well painted buildings, though. Both sets are below.
