By Almost two years ago, Oculus begun its Kickstarter campaign and has now sold over 100,000 headsets.
In April it was announced that they had sold about 60,000 first-generation Development Kit 1 units and today it was announced that over 45,000 Development Kit 2 units have been bought.
The Oculus has managed to attract many notable employee’s such as the former Valve VR engineer, Atman Binstock, the former Halo 4 Senior Art director Kenneth Scott, and even Naughty Dog’s co-founder, Jason Rubin. The company was also bought by Facebook for a whopping $2 billion.
