Sega Splitting Up Index And Atlus

Third time’s the charm, I guess. After Sega Dream and one Atlus, Sega Sammy Holdings has seemingly finalized plans for Index, splitting them into two companies to be called Index and Atlus.

Atlus will be a 121-employee company, that makes video games and related merchandise. Index will be a 166-employee company, which will cover all of Index’s other business interests. Index Digital Media, Inc, the videogame publisher for Atlus titles in US and Europe, will now be called Atlus USA Inc.

This layout for the companies is probably for the best, as Sega Sammy has similarly kept their video game and pachinko businesses separate.
