Strike and snipe.

Sons of the Forest has several weapons that you can use to eliminate hostiles. One of these is the Compound Bow, which should be significantly better than the crafted version that’s made of sticks, rope, and duct tape. Here’s our guide to help you get the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest.

How to get the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest

To get the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest, you’ll need to obtain a few tools and important items:

  • Shovel – The Shovel does require a bunch of other stuff as well, but it’s one of the most important tools in the game. With it, you’ll be able to dig and discover hidden passageways.
  • Maintenance Keycard – This is the first keycard you can pick up, and that’s only possible once you have the Shovel. Assuming the mountains/crash site is to the north, then this place is the nearby green marker that’s slightly southwest (as seen in the left-side image below).
  • Head to Maintenance B Facility – Once you have the Maintenance Keycard, you’ll have to go to yet another green marker. This one should be on the other side of the island or directly east of the previous location (as seen in the right-side image below).

Upon arriving in that area, you’ll notice a small cannibal camp. Take them out and start digging to reveal a hatch. Climb the ladder down and check the bathroom to your right. The Sons of the Forest Compound Bow is next to a corpse that’s leaning next to the bathtub. Also, don’t forget to pick up the Pistol Silencer as well.
