SPX-80 One Shot Build for Warzone 2 DMZ

You've only got one shot. Make it count!

Snipers terrorize the battlefield from afar, but in Warzone 2 and DMZ, they’ve been a hot topic since release. Sniper Rifles now take two shots to kill, severely reducing their effectiveness. There’s a group that loves this change, and there’s a group that despises it. Whatever side of the fence you sit on, Sniper Rifles can now ‘technically’ kill in a single bullet. Achieving that mythical one-shot kill takes more than good aim; you need the perfect weapon. With this in mind, let me show you the SPX-80 One Shot Build for Warzone 2 DMZ.

This build is very specific, and compared to most of our guides, like the X13 Auto Build, there’s not much room to tweak attachments. Here’s what the build looks like, followed by my reasoning:

SPX-80 Attachments

  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Muzzle: Nilsound 90
  • Ammunition: .300 Incendiary
  • Stock: Max DMR Precision
  • Optic: Personal preference

For this build, we prioritize Damage Range. This stat determines how far a bullet can go before its damage decreases. This mechanic is known as ‘damage falloff’ and is why your SMGs tickle enemies on the other side of the map.

The FSS OLE-V Laser is ‘best in slot,’ giving us improved ADS and Sprint to Fire speed. It’s the only laser to provide these powerful increases, and the ADS speed helps the SPX-80 feel snappy and responsive.

There are a few decent Muzzle options that give increased Damage Range. The Nilsound 90 unlocks early and offers Sound Suppression on top of improved handling. The difference between the best Muzzles is negligible, but the Bruen Agent 90 is a decent alternative.

Both Stock options are good, but the Max DMR Precision gives Aim Stability. The alternative provides increased Sprint Speed instead, which is useful too. Go with your gut with this attachment, as neither affects the weapon’s ability to kill in one Shot.

For the SPX-80 One Shot Build, it’s essential you use Incendiary Ammunition. If you use any other ammo type, you’ll rely on two Shot kills. The only exception is if your opponent is hurt or without a full Armor Vest.

Finally, we come to the Optic. Use anything you like, as they don’t affect weapon damage. If you prefer the default scope, swap the Optic for a Rear Grip like the Schlager Match for an ADS speed increase.

Does this build guarantee SPX-80 One Shot kills in Warzone 2 DMZ?

Unfortunately, Sniper Rifles are very inconsistent for One Shot kills, no matter how you build them. Infinity Ward has made sweeping changes to Warzone 2, making it feel more like the original. One Shot Kill sniper rifles haven’t followed suit outside special circumstances.

This SPX-80 can’t kill in a single hit beyond roughly 50 meters. At that distance, some of the long-range Assault Rifles are already viable, so unlocking the rifle’s potential takes a skilled hand. You’ll also need a follow-up shot if you hit a limb, even if the bullet would go through and hit the body.

If you’d prefer the versatility of an Assault Rifle, you can’t go wrong with the ISO Hemlock.
