Setting down in September.

After years of waiting for Starfield, we finally have a solid release date to look forward to. Well, another one that is. As for the release date itself, Starfield will launch this September. The trailer also gives us a window for a Starfield Direct.

It’s nice to finally have a release date for Starfield, especially since the game has been delayed twice now. It was originally supposed to come out last November but got pushed back to the first half of 2023. But since both Microsoft and Bethesda were being so quiet about the game, rumors of another delay started to spread. Thankfully ,we now know that Starfield will finally come our way at the tail end of the summer on September 6.

Starfield is due for a September release date

The first half of the official release date trailer gives us another look at Starfield. This time we see more of a strange alien technology working its magic before the scene transitions to the release date. Afterward, there’s a short message from Todd Howard. During this short segment, you can clearly see a lot of excitement on his part for this game. But he also acknowledges how long it’s taken for the team to get there.

Throughout this short section, you can clearly see new snippets of gameplay in the background. And this is perhaps the best look we’ve had at the game since its initial gameplay showing at E3 2022. Obviously, there’s still quite a bit we don’t know about Starfield.

However, we do know some things about Bethesda Game Studio’s upcoming game. For starters, we definitely know that the dialogue system is back. Starfield reportedly has over 250,000 lines of spoken dialogue. We also know a bit about how the game is balanced as each star system will have its own level.

Howard also announced that there will be a Starfield Direct in June. This should give us a lot of information about the game just a few months ahead of its launch. Bethesda Game Studio’s last big open-world, single-player experience was Fallout 4 in 2015. Now, nearly eight years later, we’re finally in the leadup to Starfield‘s release date. It’s been a long time coming but, hopefully, the developer can knock it out of the park.
