Steam Lunar New Year Sale will likely start next week

Steam is gearing up for a major Lunar New Year sale. Of course, the Lunar New Year is one of the largest holidays in the world, so it’s not a surprise to see Steam getting ready to start a new sale for it. But despite the fact that the Lunar New Year isn’t until February 1, the signs are pointing to the sale starting next week. These are according to leaked dates that were posted on SteamDB, despite the fact that the Steam Winter Sale was just a few weeks ago.

According to SteamDB, the sale will run from January 27 to February 3, giving players a full week to scour the large Steam library in pursuit of a hot discount. That being said, the last Winter Sale was so soon, so we’ll likely see some repeats of deals we got just a few weeks ago. But the FOMO factor of missing a sale is now gone, so rejoice.

Last time in the Winter Sale, many popular games got a major price cut, so stay on the lookout to see if any of those deals return. Games like Sea of Thieves, Hades, and Deathloop were on sale for at least half off, and the Lunar New Year is bound to attract some Asian developers to the fray as well.

In other news, the Steam Deck is expected to launch soon in February, which means the release of the handheld will follow soon after the Lunar New Year sale. Currently, there’s a list running around of games that are already expected to run on the Steam Deck, so this could be a good opportunity to load up on some compatible games before the console finally launches. If you’re amongst the first batch, anyways. I’m just here crying with mine expected to deliver after the second quarter.
