Total War: Rome 2 gets Baktria as free faction

Total War Rome 2 Baktria

Another free faction has been released for Total War: Rome 2, and this time it’s Baktria’s turn up to bat.

Apparently, Baktria was originally a part of Alexander the Great’s empire, and acted as a sort of trade hub between east and west. They’re primarily a trading nation, but their emphasis on commerce means that colonists from across the known world went to live there… which resulted in a rather varied military that blended everything from Greek troops to units from the more eastern nations. As such, they should offer a rather unique play experience.

Baktria is totally free, and your copy of Total War: Rome 2 should update automatically. You can find some more details on the faction over on the Total War wiki.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I’m starting to wonder if all these free fractions are already in the game somehow and if they’re just flicking a switch somewhere in the code. But I’m not complaining about free DLC :D.
