What are Follower Dungeons in World of Warcraft?

World of Warcraft: What are Follower Dungeons

Players of WoW are all too familiar with dungeons, as they’ve been a staple of the game throughout the years. Their varying difficulties always pose a challenge to even the hardcore players. However, the new update, Seeds of Renewal, will add a new level for these dungeons in Follower Dungeons.

In Follower Dungeons, players will queue by themselves, without a party, and be placed into one of the Dragonflight dungeons with four other NPCs. Players can lead the NPCs throughout the dungeon or have them lead the way, as a normal tank would during any other run.

Once inside these dungeons, players will also be queued with the following party composition as outlined by Blizzard NPCs.

  • Captain Garrick, a Protection Paladin
  • Crenna Earth-Daughter, a Restoration Druid
  • Meredy Huntswell, a Fire Mage
  • Austin Huxworth, a Beast Mastery Hunter

It’s worth noting that these Follower Dungeons will only be queueable once players hit level 60 and enter the Dragon Isles. This means you’ll need to have purchased Dragonflight, but we can see Blizzard adding these for all levels, which we could see when The War Within releases.

This would be a fantastic feature to offer players who are new to World of Warcraft and are looking to get into dungeon content, which is often one of the best pillars of WoW. But, the added pressure for players in these dungeons playing with other players is oftentimes what hinders us from queuing into them.

In the meantime, we’re getting ready for more World of Warcraft content in 2024, and this is only the beginning, so be sure to check out our relevant articles here.
