World of Warcraft recently released its roadmap for 2024 for all its iterations of WoW, and Classic players were overjoyed with the news of what is to come. One of these announcements was the new ‘Self Found’ mode coming to Classic Hardcore, and we will run over what it means.
WoW Classic Hardcore: What is the new ‘Self Found’ mode?
World of Warcraft Classic will be getting an ample amount of content in 2024, and while Season of Discovery will be getting a ton of love, Hardcore Classic is also getting some additions.
This comes in the form of the noted ‘Self Found’ mode, which Blizzard has noted will be “a new way to challenge players and add a little more hardcore into your Hardcore.”
From our general assumption, we will say that the new ‘Self Found’ mode in Classic Hardcore will be a new iteration of Hardcore WoW, where players won’t have the option to party up with other players. Meaning they’ll have to venture throughout the game and all the terrors within completely alone.
Furthermore, Blizzard has also noted that the mode will be released sometime during a February update, right before they increase the level cap within Season of Discovery. Another great addition Blizzard has announced will be coming in the future alongside new Runes.

Restricting the ability to join with friends, especially in Hardcore when the leveling process is the hardest part of the game, is certainly a way to increase the challenge for players. Players who have already reached 60 in Hardcore WoW might see this as another challenge, and it will be when you have to venture to Darkshore all by yourself.
Hardcore is a good way to take a break from Season of Discovery, especially with the current level cap, and the content that’s within the game.
This new mode for Classic WoW is not the only aspect of World of Warcraft players should be amped for, and it’s going to be an exciting time for players, no matter the genre of WoW they’re playing!
