When is the Zombie Royale coming to Call of Duty (CoD) Haunting Event

I just want to play Zombies!

The Haunting Event is in full swing on Call of Duty with spooky changes and additions to every mode in the game. There are Halloween-themed items on Al Mazrah, bosses to fight, and even DMZ has some festive content. One strangely absent playlist is the fan-favorite Zombie Royale. If you’ve participated in previous Halloween events for Call of Duty, you know how much fun the mode is. With this in mind, let me show you when Zombie Royale is coming to the Call of Duty (CoD) Haunting Event.

When is the Zombie Royale coming to Call of Duty

If you’re wondering where the Zombie Royale playlist is, you’re not alone. According to the official Blog Post, Zombie Royale is coming to the game as part of the mid-season update. As most items in that post went live on October 17, 2023, it would make sense for everything to be available.

Perhaps in response to the confusion, Raven Software has tweeted an updated Haunting Event calendar. According to this timetable, Zombie Royale goes live on October 20, 2023, and runs until the 25th. Unfortunately, this information isn’t visible in-game, but at least we know.

Can I play any Halloween content before October 20?

If you were itching for a Zombie fix, don’t despair; there are still plenty of Halloween scares to enjoy. Out of everything I’ve seen so far, the boss spawns across Al Mazrah are the coolest part of the Haunting event. These bosses periodically appear on the map and are hotbeds for PvP. Getting these battles done uninterrupted is a tall order, especially in modes like Resurgence, where your opponents continually respawn.

Can I fight the Bosses without enemy players interrupting?

While there’s no way to remove enemy players from the equation entirely(it’s a PvP game, after all), you don’t need to play a Battle Royale mode to try the boss fights. I recommend queuing for DMZ if you want the best shot at the new content. In DMZ, you’ll still find players, but there’s less of them, and if you die, there’s a chance your opponents will let you join their team.

You can bring your own gun to DMZ, so there’s less urgency in finding a decent weapon or securing your loadout. If it’s your first attempt at the mode, it can be overwhelming, but there’s a surprising amount of content in DMZ, and the Halloween lick of paint makes it even better.
