Worms Rumble Open Beta Begins The Weekend With Explosive Action1

Worms Rumble free update is bringing a new map and game modes

Let's get ready to rumble.

The first day of December brought us Worms Rumble this year, the series’ first move to real-time, fast-paced combat. That newfound sense of speed seems to be carrying over to the rate of post-launch content too. Not even two weeks after launch, Team17 has brought news of what’s to come for Worms Rumble.

The Lab is launching today, a new area for limited time game modes in Worms Rumble. Whenever the doors of The Lab open, players can take part in alternate game modes, and unlock exclusive in-game cosmetic rewards. The first of which is Pistols at Dawn, which equips each worm with a hand cannon capable of an insta-kill. This one will last for 48 hours, and if you take part, you’ll earn a gold worm skin. Pistols at Dawn is live from 10 AM ET today through 10 AM ET on December 12.

Moving onto the new map, Deadly Dockyards arrives for Worms Rumble in a week on December 17. The new map is set in a bustling shipyard packed with containers, cranes, and boats that move, altering the environment as the match plays out. Team17 has released a short trailer ahead of the launch of Deadly Dockyards.

Christmas cosmetics

As we enter the festive season, games are beginning to hand out some free gifts to players. Worms Rumble is the next on that list, delivering a selection of free Christmas cosmetics throughout December. These haven’t been detailed yet, but expect to see them arrive in-game soon.

Worms Rumble Launch

It can’t all be free though, and Team17 has spoken of some premium content in its press release. The premium outfits are delivering a Sea Captain skin, alongside some Shark attire. Weapons are also getting fresh skins, celebrating the classic Worms Armageddon with cosmetics that reproduce terrain like Cheese, Forest, and Manhattan from the fan-favorite title. More eccentric emotes are coming too, including new Goodbye, Selfie, Make It Rain, and Kick Ups options.

The new map, Deadly Dockyards, comes to Worms Rumble for PC on December 17.
