A Minecraft mod aims to add 100 new dungeons and bosses

Another mod for the collection.

Adding new dungeons and bosses to Minecraft through mods isn’t anything new or revolutionary. However, HexNowLoading is creating what may become the best dungeon mod of them all.

Dungeon Now Loading 1% is incredibly ambitious

HexNowLoading has been experimenting with and making dungeons for Minecraft for a while. The first video he uploaded was a showcase of The Labyrinth, which was uploaded almost two years ago. Although it’s been reworked significantly, The Labyrinth is the spiritual predecessor for the first dungeon added in Dungeon Now Loading 1%.

The lofty aim for this mod is to add 100 new detailed dungeons, each with their own complex bosses. As a new dungeon and boss gets added, the name will change to reflect this by increasing the percentage by 1. So by the end of the project, the name will become Dungeon Now Loading 100%, or it may simply then be called “Dungeon Now Loading.”

HexNowLoading revealed Dungeon Now Loading 1% on his YouTube channel and introduced the first dungeon to be added: The Labyrinth. This mod doesn’t just add a simple dungeon with typical loot. No, The Labyrinth is an awesome structure, with new mobs, items, and structures to be found within. And it all comes down to the final boss, the Chaos Spawner.

The insane effort that’s been put into The Labyrinth would warrant its own mod – but this is literally only 1% of the content HexNowLoading is aiming for.

Upon starting up the mod, you’ll be able to find your way to The Labyrinth by finding a Dungeon Map in a Monster Dungeon loot chest, making them much more useful. I think this is a natural and clever way to implement finding the new structure, and it may be how you find the other structures as more get added.

Putting aside the incredible new mobs and boss, my favorite features of The Labyrinth in Dungeon Now Loading 1% is probably the Spikes and Explosive Barrels. The Spikes are exactly what you think they are. There will be pitfalls and traps just waiting for you – or other mobs – to fall into them. The Explosive Barrels are essentially TNT without the terrain destruction and fuse – which makes for great traps.

I will certainly be installing and playing with this mod, which can be found on CurseForge and Modrinth. I hope you’ll pick up the mod too so the ambitions of HexNowLoading can be actualized.

If you’re on Bedrock, then you won’t be able to play with this mod, unfortunately. However, there are plenty of Add-Ons for you to try out!
