Destiny 2 hype has returned after Into the Light streams reveal new PvP maps, returning Exotic Missions, and Pantheon

We are so back! (I promise this isn't copium!)

It seems like the entire Destiny 2 community, myself included, is hyped for Destiny 2 Into the Light. While the third Destiny 2 Into the Light Developer Livestream seemed to push it over the edge, all the Livestreams have built up anticipation and excitement for Destiny 2 Into the Light.

All gameplay features coming in Destiny 2 Into the Light

After the third Livestream, Jrock1312 on Reddit posted, “Holy (guess the expletive) that live stream has me hyped.” Same, Jrock1312, same. The 200+ comments on the post are Destiny 2 players all in agreement that we are so back. Most people are hyped about Pantheon, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.

I’m so excited for Destiny 2 Into the Light. There is so much to look forward to that I decided to make things easy and compile a full list featuring all the Destiny 2 Into the Light content. Here’s everything that you can look forward to in Destiny 2 Into the Light — oh, and all of it is free-to-play:

Destiny 2 Into The Light Armor Sets

  • 12 Brave Arsenal weapons
  • Onslaught defense-survival PvE activity
  • Hall of Champions social space
  • Parade armor 2.0
  • Guardian character customization
  • Name change token
  • Revamped New Light experience
  • Three new PvP maps
  • Revamped The Whisper and Zero Hour Exotic Missions
  • Craftable Outbreak Perfected and Whisper of the Worm
  • Updated Exotic Mission ships
  • Destiny 2 The Final Shape gameplay stream
  • Pantheon, a Raid boss gauntlet

Since I got back into Destiny 2 during The Witch Queen, I’m very excited to play Zero Hour and The Whisper Exotic Missions for the first time and get a craftable Outbreak Perfected and Whisper of the Worm.

I’m also excited to change my Guardian’s gender (I think Warlock armor looks better on female body types). On top of that, I have a good excuse to finally pull my friends into Destiny 2 thanks to the New Light experience getting a skip tutorial option and everything in Into the Light being free to play.

Onslaught looks fun and I’m eager to grind Brave Arsenal God Rolls because at least half of those weapons are must-haves. The PvP maps look beautiful; I hope they play great, too. I’m not stoked for the Parade armor 2.0 because the Warlock set looks wack, but Titans and Hunters are eating.

Lastly (before we get to Pantheon), we’re getting a Destiny 2 The Final Shape gameplay stream at 9:30 am PT on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. This is 30 minutes before Into the Light begins and will be 30 minutes of The Final Shape gameplay. The specifics of what we’ll see haven’t been revealed, but I’m crossing my fingers for the red Darkness subclass. But what about Pantheon?

What is Pantheon in Destiny 2 Into the Light?

Pantheon has been announced to be coming in Destiny 2 Into the Light. We don’t know much about it other than it’s a Raid boss gauntlet — we’ll learn more about it in an upcoming TWID — but it’s something to be excited about.

I’m guessing Pantheon will be an activity like Crucible or Gambit, possibly a limited-time mode but hopefully not, that is a Raid boss rush. I’m imagining it’ll have a roguelike structure similar to The Coil. But, all of this is speculation. Either way, if you aren’t excited about any of the upcoming content in Into the Light, get excited for Pantheon.
