Ark Survival Ascended’s surprise release stormed into the gaming community, and while the game is only in early access, it’s been a blast thus far.
One of the starting steps players will have to endure is to pick their map, and we will run over the best ones within Ark.
Ark Survival Ascended – All Maps Ranked
Ark fans are well aware that survival is key within their games, and more often than not, it’s going to come down to the kind of map you selected alongside the spawn you received.
This can be the make-it-or-break-it case within most players’ worlds, and we’ve seen some hilarious outcomes of players early on within Survival Ascedend who have been on the unfortunate end of bad spawns.
Maps were a major aspect of other Ark titles such as Evolved, and we’ve seen community-run mods that create their own maps, so players can embark on a unique journey.
At the time of writing, there is only one map within Ark Survival Ascended, and this is The Island map, the starting one within the game. We can assume Studio Wildcard intends to add more once the game progresses along its development path more, as it is only in early access, after all.
In terms of The Island, this is the original map within “The Ark,” and it was previously played by players back when it was released in 2015 and has since become beloved by many players.
The map offers numerous different climate zones, as noted in the above screenshot of the map; alongside the fact that it offers a wide array of dinosaurs and artifacts for players to discover. Making it one of the premier starting maps within the game, and it houses numerous exceptional base spots for players.
So in terms of ranking the best Survival Ascended maps, we have no choice but to rank The Island at the top of the list, considering it is the only map.
However, be sure to keep your eyes peeled at the in-game Curse Forge mod menu, as over time, they’re going to be adding certain maps we can assume, along with official ones.
