Assassin's Creed Valhalla Season Pass Druids

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass and post-launch content detailed

Druid cults, foreign sieges, and the legend of Beowulf.

Ubisoft seems to be going all in with its next entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Or perhaps we should say all out, based upon the new locations. It sounds like a ton of post-Viking invasion content is coming to the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass.

The latest trailer for the game revealed that Eivor will take a journey to Ireland as well as participate in an epic city siege of medieval Paris. In addition to the new locations, players will also be able to explore an iconic myth out of the lore of Beowulf. Geralt, er, I mean… Eivor will hunt down Grendel in a unique story that is sure to end in nothing short of a thrilling battle. Thrifty Vikings need not worry though, as there will be several free updates coming to the base game aside from the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass content.

The first piece of Season Pass content will be the Legend of Beowulf mission, available on launch day. Following that, we should see the first free content update arrive before the year’s end. The first free content update will depict the Yule festival, which is the Viking equivalent to Christmas. Vikings definitely had their own traditions, but it should provide great ambience for jolly Nords. Ubisoft did specify that it will be a timed event, so you may want to check this one out while you can. Following the Yule festival, we can expect more seasonal events taking place in Eivor’s clan settlement.

The world is yours, child of Odin

Moving into Spring 2021, the Wrath of the Druids will arrive alongside the second free update. As mentioned, the expansion will add Ireland and a dark new land to explore. It will be filled with mysticism and fierce warriors distinct from their mainland counterparts. Ubisoft didn’t go into specifics about the DLC, but you might expect more of a Witcher-like experience here. We certainly are.

The second free content update will add new in-game activities like river racing and some good ole burning and pillaging. Ubisoft didn’t provide clear details about the rest of the free updates, but it sounds like more activity-based stuff.

assassin's creed valhalla season pass France

Medieval France under siege.

The final planned expansion for the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass will capitalize on the game’s new siege mechanics by cranking things up to 12. The historic Viking siege of Paris was infamous for its boldness and sheer scale. It proved the Nordic invaders were capable of far more than village raiding, and you should expect to storm the battlements and engage in massive melees in Siege of Paris. It will also introduce the lands of France once again to the Assassin’s Creed series, though we don’t know how large that region will be or what will be in it. It sounds like the goal here is to provide players with the feelings of being powerful conquerors. You will do some sneaking around and back-room dealing along the way, though.

All of this content is scheduled to arrive by Fall 2021. Given the craziness of delays this year though, it will be interesting to see where the team is at by next year. With luck, we’ll be engaged in largescale IRL events ourselves. Minus the sieges. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches November 10, 2020 on most platforms.
