Can you make the ground flat in LEGO Fortnite?

Currently, there is no way to make the ground flat in LEGO Fortnite. It’s strange that in a game all about creative freedom and building there are no tools or options to make the landscape of where you want to build flat. However, I do know a couple of workarounds to help you work past the flat ground issue.

To get around the fact that so far there is no way to level the ground in LEGO Fortnite, you can, instead, search for a large flat piece of land before you start building your base. If you’re on Sandbox mode, you can fly around until you find a good spot, but if you’re on Survival, I highly recommend not settling down in one spot until you’ve found somewhere that is relatively flat and has the Desert and Frostland biomes nearby.

Once you find a flat spot, odds are it won’t be completely flat because of the natural rolling hills present in Fortnite. To counter this, I recommend you utilize the snap feature. If you don’t know, in build mode, there is a snap feature that allows you to quickly snap the block you’re holding onto the block you want to place it next to.

It’s not a perfect feature — building in general in LEGO Fortnite is very frustrating — but with the snap feature, you don’t need to level the ground because you can usually (not always, in my experience) make your blocks level with each other. Again, it’s a wonky system, but after you experiment with it and get used to it, you can use the snap feature to be successful in the build mode of LEGO Fortnite.
