We’re saying goodbye to February and saying hello to March. We could be saying hello to some cool surprises as well. The content drops and PC game releases for March 2020 feature a trove of hotly-anticipated offerings.
The Division 2: Warlords of New York starts off the festivities and we’ll also see lots of demons, gore, and blood in Doom Eternal. Titles such as Bleeding Edge, Panzer Corps 2, Stela, and more will also arrive. Destiny 2: Season of the Worthy and Path of Exile: Delirium will also add to the base game. As for long-awaited releases, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will be part of Steam’s early access program. Oh, and fans of Half-Life won’t need to wait that long because the VR title Half-Life: Alyx and the reinvented Black Mesa will also launch this month.

March 2020 PC game release dates
The Division 2: Warlords of New York (Ubisoft): March 3
The Division 2‘s agents are sent back to Manhattan to chase down a major antagonist from the previous game. Warlords of New York raises the level cap to 40, adds lots of new items, and seasonal gear. Likewise, enemies now scale based on the player’s level, so you won’t feel locked out of certain areas as you explore.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (343 Industries): March 3
In what can be considered as one of the biggest surprises in early 2020, the remastered version of the first Halo game has finally been made available as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Curse of the Dead Gods (Passtech Games): March 3 (Early Access)
Featuring roguelike mechanics, this ARPG lets you use curses that can be a double-edged sword as you delve deeper into dungeons.
Black Mesa (Crowbar Collective): March 5
Although it’s been in Early Access for years, Crowbar Collective’s reimagining of Black Mesa is expected to release some time in late 2018, early 2019, mid 2019. You know what? It took a long while, but it looks like Black Mesa will finally release next week. Half-Life fans can rejoice since this and Half-Life: Alyx could make March 2020 quite exciting.
Murder by Numbers (Mediatonic): March 6
This detective game lets you solve various puzzles that’ll eventually unlock clues to be used in your investigation.
Call of Duty: Warzone (Infinity Ward/Activision): March 10
This standalone, free-to-play title brings together Modern Warfare and battle royale action.
Destiny 2: Season of the Worthy (Bungie): March 10
The upcoming Destiny 2 season will reintroduce Trials of Osiris, a high-stakes, 3-on-3, PvP game mode.
Ori And The Will Of The Wisps (Moon Studios): March 11
The sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest is expected to release in March 2020.
Fantasy General 2: Onslaught (Owned by Gravity): March 12
This DLC adds Onslaught Mode and procedurally generated maps as well as several flying units. You can also check out our DLC impressions.
Path of Exile: Delirium (Grinding Gear Games): March 13
The next Path of Exile expansion/league, Delirium, will take you to a mist-covered realm filled with deadly horrors. You’ll also obtain new rewards such as cluster jewels that add even more passive nodes. You can also check out our in-depth preview and interview.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 (Bandai Namco): March 13
Another fighting game based on the My Hero Academia anime series.
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (Undead Labs): March 13
Not only will this be the first time State of Decay 2 is made available on Steam (after being part of the Microsoft Windows Store), players will also see new additions. There’s the new Providence Ridge open-world map, as well as grittier visuals fit for a zombie apocalypse.
Stela (SkyBox Labs): March 13
Made by Halo Infinite co-developer SkyBox Labs, this platformer will have you exploring the mysteries of a dying civilization.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus (Cygames): March 13
A fighting game based on the Granblue Fantasy RPG.
Stellaris: Federations (Paradox Interactive): March 17
Expand your diplomatic capabilities by joining powerful blocs called Federations. Sanction your foes and rule your own Galactic Senate.
Panzer Corps 2 (Flashback Games/Slitherine): March 19
The sequel to Slitherine’s WW2 strategy classic will be arriving this March 2020.
Total War: Three Kingdoms – A World Betrayed (Creative Assembly): March 19
The next DLC/expansion for Total War: Three Kingdoms is set in 194 CE. Lu Bu is an independent ruler after assassinating Dong Zhuo, and Sun Ce marches to conquer the Southlands.
Doom Eternal (id Software): March 20
Doom fans will be going to hell once more in 2020. After a short delay, Doom Eternal will bring back pulse-pounding and gory action against the demonic hordes. Doom Eternal will also have Battlemode PvP where you can control the demons yourself. Greg Bargas had a chance to try out the demo during E3 2019.
Doom 64 (id Software): March 20
The classic Doom game from the N64 days will arrive on PCs. Doom 64 will also be available for free if you pre-order Doom Eternal.
Half-Life: Alyx (Valve): March 23
The first Valve-made Half-Life game in over a decade, Half-Life: Alyx puts you in the role of Alyx Vance as she attempts to fight back against the Combine. This VR title is set between the events of the first two games. Knowing Valve’s reputation as an industry leader and the mystique surrounding its popular FPS franchise, Half-Life: Alyx might lead to a refreshing take on what VR gaming can do.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III (Nihon Falcom): March 23
A JRPG with turn-based battles following the story of the previous games in the series.
Bleeding Edge (Ninja Theory): March 24
This action game has fast-paced, fluid, and stylistic action. No, it’s not Devil May Cry, although DmC’s combat director Rahmi Tucker is part of the team. It’s Bleeding Edge, an upcoming 4v4 battler from Ninja Theory which lets you freeze enemies, ride rockets, and unleash combos. The game will be available for Xbox Game Pass for PC owners.
Iron Danger (Action Squad Studios): March 25
A turn-based tactical RPG which a unique time manipulation twist during battles. This lets you rewind your actions in order to come up with different effects against your enemies.
Cities: Skylines – Sunset Harbor (Colossal Order/Paradox Interactive): March 25
This DLC adds new features such as building your own fishing industry and transportation options like trolleys and passenger helicopters.
Control: The Foundation (Remedy Entertainment): March 26
Jesse Faden, now the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, has to solve a new mystery and help prevent another catastrophe. The Head of Operations has gone missing, and the Astral Plane is set to collide with the real world.
One Step From Eden (Thomas Moon Kang/Humble Bundle): March 26
Gameplay elements are a combination of deck-building and rogue-like mechanics.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (Koei Tecmo): March 27
Another fighting game based on the hit anime series.
Gordian Quest (Mixed Realms): March 27 (Early Access)
Form your party and your deck of cards to take out the bad guys.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (TaleWorlds Entertainment): March 30 (Early Access)
The sequel to one of the most engaging and immersive sandbox adventure and army-building games of all time, Bannerlord is something fans hotly anticipate. It was originally announced during the Medieval Era. We’re kidding. Still, it will finally release in March 2020… as an early access title.
Imperator: Rome – Magna Graecia (Paradox Interactive): March 31
This content pack adds new missions for Athens, Sparta, and Syracuse. You’ll also get 12 new Greek deities and the ability of a ruler to attain Apotheosis, revered to the point of being elevated into godhood.
PC game releases for Q1 2020
Destroy All Humans! (Black Forest Games/Pandemic Studios): Q1 2020
A remake of the PlayStation 2 classic that originally released in 2005. Destroy All Humans! lets you play as Crypto-137 while annihilating the puny meatbags of earth.
System Shock (Nightdive Studios): Q1 2020
Nightdive will be “rebooting and re-imagining” the great System Shock. Most of the additions appear cosmetic or functional in nature (modern graphics, mouse controls), and level design seems like it will largely remain unaltered. The game has been delayed for some time.
REZ PLZ (Long Neck Games): Q1 2020
A co-op puzzle platformer where you and your brother repeatedly die (and ress) each other.
Last Oasis (Donkey Crew): Q1 2020 (Early Access)
A nomadic survival MMO where you need to keep moving on board your contraptions to survive and avoid the harsh, scorching sun. Last Oasis’ Early Access release has been delayed until Q1 2020.
Bite the Bullet (Mega Cat Studios): Q1 2020
An RPG roguelike where you can eat various species to power-up your character.
