Hogwarts Legacy: How to complete ‘Follow The Butterflies”

If fiction teaches us one thing, it's that butterflies know how to get to anything.

If there’s one thing Hogwarts Legacy enjoys, it’s chest. If there’s one thing it doesn’t particularly mention, it’s butterflies. Put those together and you have a new, smaller mechanic for finding overworld chests in the game, but first, you have a quest about it. Who doesn’t have the urge to go follow around some butterflies every once in a while? Here’s how to complete ‘Follow The Butterflies.’

The quest starts in the Three Broomsticks. Clementine Willardsey is standing near the main counter.

She tells you she is fascinated by the butterflies in the Forbidden Forest and wants to know where they go, but is terribly afraid of the Forbidden Forest. Agree to check it out for her and set out for the Forbidden Forest Floo Station on the map.

The butterflies aren’t hard to find, they are simply just down the path into the Forbidden Forest.

When they start moving, they’ll go through the river and past a Dugbong and possibly a poacher. Ignore them both and run to keep up.

The butterflies end at a little chest. After you open it, return to Clementine.

If you tell her about what you found with the butterflies, she’s happy to hear about it, and that’s pretty much it. You’ll get a Flower Box conjuration as your reward.

This quest does count as a mechanic introduction quest, however. If you examine the map closely you’ll notice other spots marked with the butterflies. Each of these will also lead to a chest. It’s not as shiny of a collectible as the Demiguises or Moth Paintings, but it’s a collectible of a sort for the collector types nonetheless.
