Best tips and tricks to avoid traps in Diablo 4

Avoiding traps might be a slight skill issue in Diablo 4, but honestly, there are way too many traps in Vaults. If you’re using a melee build like me playing Barbarian, avoiding traps is very difficult. And it wouldn’t be an issue if Wardwoven Chests didn’t exist, giving you a reason to take as minimal damage as possible.

Here are the two tips I recommend: use a controller or turn on WASD movement.

Use a controller in Diablo 4

Players have reported online in Diablo 4 discussions that when they go to controller from keyboard and mouse, they have much more control of their movement and can even achieve flawless runs.

Better movement is a known fact in the ongoing controller vs. keyboard and mouse debate. With a controller, you can make the minuscule movement choices necessary to navigate past the traps.

Turn on WASD movement in Diablo 4

Blizzard finally integrated WASD movement in Diablo 4 Season 3. From personal experience, turning on WASD movement allows you to enjoy the game with keyboard and mouse still while enjoying more controlled movement.

The issue with mouse movement in Diablo 4 is there’s constantly something on your screen that makes it difficult to attack and move to where you need to go. With keyboard movement, you have direct control over where you’re going while also controlling what direction you’re attacking.

If you don’t want to use WASD movement or a controller in Diablo 4, my only last piece of advice is to use a ranged build when trying to clear Vaults. With a ranged build, you can stay away from traps and still defeat enemies. With a melee build, you need to meet enemies where they are which is often on traps. Make sure you have the best Seneschal Construct build to help you along.
