The Guardian Games All-Stars event is finally underway, and there’s no better time to show your class pride. But before you start trash-talking enemy Warlocks, you first need to know the basics. That’s why we’re going to go over how to complete Shoot to Score and Vying for Supremacy quests in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 — Shoot to Score and Vying for Supremacy quests explained
This year’s Guadian Games comes with some much-needed variety during the wait for The Final Shape. Players can even live out their dreams they’ve had since Lightfall came out, and ride a hoverboard. In terms of actual events, there are two weekly quests that players can participate in to boost their class’s standings in the games. These are named Shoot to Score and Vying for Supremacy, with one being PvE-based and the other PvP respectively. These quests reappear weekly, so once you wrap up the week make sure to check back later on.
Shoot to Score is a PvE quest that requires you to queue up the Nightfall playlist. There are two separate playlists for this event, a Recreation one used to practice, and a Competitive playlist. Keep in mind, that your score will only count for the competitive playlist.
Conversely, Vying for Supremacy is the PvP quest, pitting Guardians against each other in a Crucible or Gambit match. However, no matter which quest you choose to complete, you’ll need to get high scores to earn chests. Depending on the score you earn in the event, you can earn up to 4 chests per quest with varying degrees of loot depending on the score tier you reach.
Shoot to Score and Vying For Supremacy score thresholds
Throughout the entire event, Shoot to Score and Vying for Supremacy will give players chests depending on their weekly performance in each respective event. Chests can range from Bronze to Platinum depending on your score. And the higher tiers you reach, the more buffs you’ll earn making the events easier. Here are all the score thresholds you need to hit to reach the highest ranks:
- Shoot to Score–
- Bronze: 50,000
- Silver: 100,000
- Gold: 150,000
- Platinum: 175,000
- Vying for Supremacy–
- Bronze: 150
- Silver: 300
- Gold: 600
- Platinum: 1000
Thankfully, your points will total up throughout the week, so don’t worry if you have a bad Nightfall run or PvP game. After reaching a certain threshold, head back to the Tower and there will be a Scoring Torch that you can activate for rewards and some temporary cosmetic flair.
Aside from your score, there are also times that one playlist from the games will turn into a Focus Activity. Figuring out how Focus Activities work not only helps your class in the Guardian Games but also gives you an extra boost of rewards and loot.
