How to complete the Happy Together side quest in Cyberpunk 2077

Will you get a happy ending?

Cyberpunk 2077 is dripping with slice-of-life moments you can interact with or simply acknowledge. Life in the dystopian far future is difficult and mostly void of joy, unless you’re indulging in one of the many, many vices that are available. Outside your apartment in Watson, it won’t be long before you overhear such a slice-of-life moment, as you find two cops banging on someone’s door. If you’re nosy, you’ll have started your journey on the Happy Together side quest in Cyberpunk 2077. This quest will either be tragic or wholesome, depending on your choices. Here’s how to complete Happy Together in Cyberpunk 2077.

Starting Happy Together

Talking to the cops will start your quest, and you’ll learn that they want to reach their friend Barry, a former NCPD officer. You’ll be asked to check in on him. Knocking on his door will be useless, and you’ll have to return later. You can wait a few hours from the menu to skip this wait. Knock on his door again, and he’ll answer.

You’ll need to navigate the delicate conversation correctly if you want the good ending for this quest. There are special dialogue options that require a level 4 body, but they aren’t needed to get the good ending. Tell him that you just want to talk when he answers the door, and hear him out. Telling him that his friends asked you to drop by followed by admitting that you also lost someone is key here.

At this point in the conversation, make sure to exhaust all optional (blue) dialogue. This will give you more insight into his position and will allow you to get the good ending.

To end the conversation safely, ask about his friends on the force, validate his feelings by saying “everyone has their limits,” and then finally stand to leave.

Finding Andrew’s niche

If you’ve exhausted the optional dialogue, an optional step in the quest will be available to you. To visit Andrew’s niche. Go to your map to find out where it is, and make your way down before you talk to the cops. Talking to the cops immediately after will result in the bad ending.

You will be required, once you’ve arrived at the location, to use your scanner to find the correct niche. It’s in the bottom right corner of the searchable area. Once you’ve found it, you’ll learn that Andrew was a tortoise. Poor thing.

Make your way back to the cops and tell the cops that you visited Andrew’s grave. Choosing the other option will result in the bad ending. The cops will then head over to Barry’s apartment, and Barry will let them in. Good ending achieved.

The bad ending

If you talk to the cops about his depression instead of visiting Andrew’s grave, the cops will tell you to go back to Barry in a few hours. This, however, will result in his apartment door being wrapped in police tape and covered in blood. Make sure to check in on your friends when they’re feeling down, okay?
