How to refill Irrigation Hose in Lightyear Frontier

Stay hydrated.

The Irrigation Hose is one of your most valuable tools in Lightyear Frontier. But the game is rather coy about how to refill it once you’ve used up all of its water and Fertilizer.

Lightyear Frontier: How to refill the Irrigation Hose with water

To refill the Irrigation Hose we’ll need to make use of the Vaccum Harvester. The Vacuum Harvester is used to suck up stray materials, berries, and most importantly for this situation, water. Any lake, stream, pond, or bit of the sea will do. Just take the Irrigation Hose, aim it at the water, and start sucking it up. This will automatically fill the water gauge for the Irrigation Hose.

The Irrigation Hose only has a small capacity, so make note of any pools of water you come across. I even managed to listen out for any nearby waterfalls to find good spots. I also set up camp near a body of water in case I ever needed a quick refill.

How to refill with Fertilizer

Fertilizer is a core item in Lightyear Frontier just like the Plant Oil. To make Fertilizer you need to place Plant Fiber, crops, and anything else that fits within that category into a Compost Box. You’ll unlock the Compost Box crafting recipe once you’ve restored the Yellow Forest area on the map. And you’ll find Yellow Forest to the east of The Meadows.

To craft the Compost Box you’ll need 20x wood and 4x Zappertwig Oil. Once all that’s gathered you’ll be able to make Fertilizer and strengthen the yield of your crops with the Irrigation Hose back at home. It’s a fair amount of work but once it’s done you’ll likely find the Irrigation Hose to be one of the most useful tools in Lightyear Frontier. And if you want all of this to be easier you can always host a multiplayer session of the game.
