Players wanting to start a new guardian, or brand new players starting Destiny 2 for the first time have a new option to expedite their progress. Normally when you start a new character in D2, you’ll be taken to the Cosmodrome to get your bearings before traveling to farther planets. However, with the new Into the Light update, players can now completely skip the New Light tutorial in the Cosmodrome and start chasing those new shiny godrolls.

Players have two options now when first entering the cosmodrome and meeting your tutorial NPC, Shaw Han. You can choose to continue the tutorial quest “A Guardian Rises” which was the normal way of starting Destiny 2 before Into the Light. That being said, if you want to skip the New Light tutorial in Destiny 2, all you have to do is head to the flag right next to Shaw that says “Skip New Light.”

You can choose to skip the tutorial section at any time during the quest, but make sure you absolutely want to do this, because you won’t be able to reverse this decision. You’ll also receive your very first ship, which just so happens to be the one hovering over the flag you must interact with to skip the campaign.

All of this and so much more can be yours for no additional charge, which has pleased every Destiny 2 player. Additionally, if you’re one of the people skipping the New Light campaign, you can be the proud owner of a New Light Kit to compensate for the gear you would’ve gotten by completing the tutorial.
