How to get free V-Bucks glitch in Fortnite

Today, Fortnite players worldwide are reporting that they are getting 950 V-Bucks just from logging in. The servers aren’t down, there’s just a glitch that is giving random people free V-Bucks. But is it really random?

Though it’s not officially confirmed why this free V-Bucks glitch is happening, our current working theory is that the latest update confused the season as being over which automatically refunded the Battle Pass to people who have it.

But it gets deeper than that. Myself and one of my colleagues didn’t receive the free 950 V-Bucks upon logging in. However, my other colleague did. I don’t own the Battle Pass, so I didn’t get the 950 V-Bucks. That makes sense. But my two colleagues both own the Battle Pass. The only difference is the one who received the free 950 V-Bucks owns Fortnite Crew.

It seems that to benefit from the free 950 V-Bucks glitch in Fortnite, you need to have owned the current Battle Pass and be a member of Fortnite Crew. If you retroactively try to do this today, odds are you’ll still be out of luck for claiming the free 950 V-Bucks glitch.

We’re eager to hear from Epic Games as to what caused this issue. I’m eager to know if they’ll level the playing field and give everyone some free V-Bucks. Since I don’t currently own the Battle Pass and I’m a big fan of the Korra cosmetics, I’d love to get 950 V-Bucks so I can opt-in to this season’s Battle Pass. I’m not sure how they’ll recover from this, but I do know that I’ll need to keep grinding XP either way.
