Modern Warfare 3: All or Nothing mode, explained

I'm all in.

Bringing knives to a gunfight makes sense when there is no ammo. Here is everything you need to know about the All or Nothing multiplayer mode in Modern Warfare 3.

How to play All or Nothing mode in Modern Warfare 3

The final week of Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 brings back one of the most popular and beloved game modes for multiplayer: All or Nothing. If you are new to this custom playlist, then you have arrived at the right place. You see, while you could spend a decent chunk of time trying to concoct and equip the perfect loadout based on a specific weapon of choice or playstyle, All or Nothing takes it all away and forces all players to play on a leveled ground.

All players spawn with a pistol with no ammo and a throwing knife. If you kill enemies or stay alive long enough, you will begin to earn perks, with the Scavenger perk allowing you to pick up more throwing knives and more importantly, pistol bullets.

While this all sounds good and nice, assuming that this is an easy game mode would be a mistake. You see, while throwing knives around is great and certainly brings back memories from when I used them in the OG Modern Warfare 2, you will inevitably get killed. If you fall, then you will lose absolutely everything. That is your ammo — and even every single one of your perks. This means that only the absolute best will win. So, to win, you will have to aim your knives perfectly, avoid enemy fire, and manage your bullets accordingly.

Be prepared for some real close encounters during this mode which will keep your blood pumping and, in my case, out of bullets and perks. Yeah, maybe I’m not tailor-made for first-person shooters after all.
