How you can prepare for The Final Shape in Destiny 2

The live stream from the Bungie team has highlighted just how monumental the changes coming to Destiny 2 will be. We have an all-new subclass, returning and new weapons, and, of course, new seasonal missions. There are a few things that absolutely need to be done before the new season begins in Destiny 2, and a few things that are just general housekeeping.

Clean ya damn vault

Would you be proud to bring a date back to this vault? What would your mother say if she saw the way you’re living? Clean your vault and make space for all the new goodies that are going to be coming out in The Final Shape.

Now, we do actually have a very handy guide to clearing out your vault here. It uses a few tools online to analyze your vault. It then will show you what is worth keeping and lock or unlock it. You can then use another tool to quickly dismantle everything you no longer need. It speeds the whole process up drastically.

Complete seasonal challenges

Seasonal challenges might seem a little grindy but they are an amazing way to collect a whole bunch of Bright Dust. A ton of them can easily be completed all at once, quickly racking up that seasonal XP. Once the season is over, so are the seasonal challenges. Make sure to get them all completed before The Final Shape starts in Destiny 2.

Complete the Season Pass before The Final Shape

Completing seasonal challenges is a fantastic way to blast through the Season Pass. You’ll definitely want to have that completed before The Final Shape in Destiny 2. There are so many helpful materials and bonuses locked away in the Season Pass.

If you have the premium Season Pass unlocked, the armor sets that you can only get through this method are always worth your time. They usually look sick and can come with some goated stats.

Complete the seasonal storylines

After a whole decade of Destiny 2, the storylines are woven so deep and complex that it takes a dissertation to really comprehend what’s happened leading up to The Final Shape. However, it is always a good idea to complete all the seasonal storylines in the game. This will help you to really catch up on what’s going on and what may happen.

Of course, some players don’t play the game for the storyline, but I like it. I like the lore it adds and the gravitas to some of the beautiful landscapes and quests that Bungie somehow still squeezes out of the Light and Dark saga. Just run back through the missions, and make sure you’re up to date.

Unlock your Subclasses and Fragments

With the news about the all-new Prismatic Subclass coming to Destiny 2: The Final Shape, unlocking all your Subclasses and Fragments has never been more important. Now, with the new subclass, you can combine a wide range of abilities and fragments from all of the subclasses into one superclass.

Unlocking all of these before we embark on The Final Shape in Destiny 2 will mean you’re ready to put your perfect Prismatic subclass together. You don’t want to be left behind.

Hoard bounties before The Final Shape

This one is a little bit cheeky, but it can help you fly through the Season Pass as soon as Destiny 2: The Final Shape drops. By completing a ton of bounties but not turning them in before you log off for the season, you will have the XP waiting for you when you log back on.

Complete a ton of bounties and leave them to stew before the season ends for a big hit to XP when you log back in.

Complete the endgame content

Head into those raids and grandmaster nightfalls not only for the practice but also to collect together all that gear you may not have managed to get. There are some excellent Exotics out there that need collecting. These events are the best ways to get your hands on them. If you’re not feeling up to the challenge and time of a Nightfall or Raid, then just give the Dungeons a go. They still have some fantastic rewards at the end.

Spend your Legendary Shards before The Final Shape

With the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape comes the end of Legendary Shards. Make sure you spend them all before the new season starts. However, a lot of the classic resources will still be needed. So, hoard your Glimmer and Enhancement Modules in preparation for the new season.

Collect your seasonal weapon patterns

Seasonal weapons will be a lot harder to find once the current season of Destiny 2 ends. So, before embarking on The Final Shape, make sure you get out there and grind the seasonal weapons. Once you have their patterns, you will be able to craft them into much more powerful versions. These crafted weapons will help you put together your perfect build for the last chapter of Destiny 2.
