Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Five Reloaded has finally arrived. As outlined on the roadmap, an array of new content has arrived for both games. To begin, a multitude of assault rifles have been adjusted. The C58’s recoil has been slightly increased, however, it impacts the deviation of the recoil pattern. Next, the Modern Warfare FAL has seen a decrease to its upper torso damage multiplier from 1.1 to 1. The gun is still extremely powerful, especially if you achieve headshots. In terms of the Groza, its sprint to fire speed has been increased by 15%. Therefore, it will be able to compete with submachine guns at close range. The assault rifle that has been hit with the most changes is the Krig 6, which has proven to be extremely popular in Warzone. Its maximum damage has been decreased from 30 to 29, mid damage to 25, and minimum damage is now 23. Additionally, the weapon kick has been changed, meaning it will be easier to shoot straight.

Assault rifle changes are the focus of the patch

These are not the only changes that you’ll experience when using using assault rifles. The aim down sight speed of the Serpent Grip on the Groza has also been reduced. Ultimately, this ensures that the gun does not cross the line toward a submachine gun. Elsewhere, all barrels have either seen a reduction to their horizontal or vertical recoil control. The same rule applies to the Match Grade and Task Force barrels when used on a light machine gun.

Moreover, many tactical rifles are involved in the Warzone weapon tuning patch. The AUG, DMR 14 and M16 have all experienced recoil changes, with the DMR 14 described as feeling like a new weapon. If you use the 16.3” Titanium barrel on the DMR 14, you will notice a damage range decrease from 25% to 20%, but a rate of fire increase from 16.7% to 15%. The Type 63 has undergone the most balancing though. The headshot multiplier, upper torso multiplier, and lower torso multiplier for this weapon have all been slightly decreased. Accompanying these changes is an increase to to the neck damage multiplier from 1.2 to 1.58.

The Modern Warfare MP5, with the 10mm auto 30 round magazine equipped, has seen its maximum damage decreased from 34 to 31. Also, the OTs 9 submachine gun’s maximum damage range has been decreased by 6.2% as it was more powerful than intended. The PPSh-41 has been revised too, ensuring you can reliably line up shots with this weapon. Finally, two sniper rifles have seen their recoil adjusted. Both the Swiss K31 and ZRG 20mm has seen improved firing recoil to better the overall feel of sniping with these weapons.

It will be interesting to see if the weapon tuning patch will switch up the meta in Call of Duty: Warzone. With that being said, there appears to be many viable options for you to take to the battlefields of Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island.
