What is Cascade Point?

This trait can be found on all sorts of weapons, from Snipers to Auto Rifles. The trait, in basic terms, reduces firing delay on the weapon once precision shots or multi-kills have been achieved with another weapon within five seconds of each other. Once the requirements have been met, Cascade Point Ready will be displayed. Then, the weapon will be imbued with the RPM buff.

So, to activate Cascade Point in Destiny 2, you must land a certain amount of Precision Hits or Final Blows. These must be within four seconds of each other to fill the meter. Once this has been filled, you will have five seconds to switch to the weapon, or weapons, with Cascade Point equipped to make the most of it.

The buff will only last a total of 2.5 seconds, but this is enough time to get off a kill or two. The trait can be equipped across multiple weapons, making it possible to cycle between buffed weapons constantly.

How to effectively use Cascade Point in Destiny 2

To fully make the most of Cascade Point and ensure you have it active as often as possible, it is necessary to understand how it works. Different weapons will contribute different amounts to the activation countdown.

  • Sniper Rifles/Shotguns/Linear Fusion Rifles/Bows – 50% Per Hit. Activated in two shots.
  • Scout Rifles/Hand Cannons/Sidearms – 17.5% Per Hit. Activated in six shots.
  • Trace Rifles/Sub Machine Guns/Auto Rifles/ Machine Guns/Pulse Rifles – 8% Per Hit. Activated in 13 shots.

You will need to land this many precision hits on a target in Destiny 2 for the Cascade Point trait to become active on another weapon. The boosts to the RPM of weapons scales like this:

  • Sniper Rifles/Shotguns/Auto Rifles/Grenade Launcher – 0.6X
  • Machine Guns/Sub Machine Guns – 0.7X

This boost will last for 2.5 seconds and will then need to be reactivated with another weapon.

Some guns to look out for with Cascade Point

Here are the best weapons in Destiny 2 with Cascade Point.

  • Taraxippos – This weapon already has a remarkably high 200 RPM. With the additional buff, it can kill enemy guardians in milliseconds.
  • Supercluster – This Slug Shotgun has precision, accuracy, and massive damage when Cascde Points buffs the fire rate.
  • Wendigo GL3 – It’s like a machine gun but with grenades instead. Absolute carnage.
