Where to find and farm Ancient Arrows in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

For every arrow, a blade.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some weapons stand head and shoulders above others. When it comes to projectile weapons, there’s no question which one claims the crown. This guide tells you where to find and farm Ancient Arrows in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to find and farm Ancient Arrows

You won’t find an Ancient Arrow to farm in the wild. Ancient Arrows consist of two components: a standard arrow and an Ancient Blade. When you fuse your arrow with the blade before firing, that’s when the magic happens.

Given that reality, the question becomes where you can find and farm the Ancient Blade. It’s not a common item. Previously, we wrote a guide on how to get the Ancient Blade. In the early stages of the game, the item is extraordinarily rare and found only in treasure chests. I have explored Hyrule extensively and I acquired a grand total of two blades until right near the game’s end.

Very late in the campaign, you complete a series of quests that allows you to finally access the Spirit Temple. After you defeat the boss in that area, talk to the Mining Construct. The screenshot above shows its precise location, near the back of the temple and to the right of Mineru. The Mining Construct hands over an additional Ancient Blade as a reward.

The same Mining Construct that provides the Ancient Blade is willing to part with more of the same item. However, it requires payment of 50 Zonaite. When you bring that currency (also see our guide on where to farm Zonaite charges), you can acquire additional Ancient Blades at any time. This is a very late-game service. You only activate the Construct after you find the Fifth Sage, just before you are ready to attempt the final areas.

One note on the Ancient Arrow: it essentially vaporizes opponents. You can use it to clear away powerful foes, but anything they might have dropped also vanishes. It’s not useful for farming other rare materials, in other words. It may still prove useful as you decide how to obtain Majora’s Mask, however.
