When engaging in the Ornate Box quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will need to bump into to Sven on a few different occasions to be rewarded in full. As you’ll need to be proactive, it’ll help to know where you can find him.

Sven location #1

Players will encounter Sven when entering Vernworth for the first time. He’s impossible to miss, as the encounter with him is on the game’s main path.

During the quest “Seat of the Sovran,” a short sequence shows Sven running away from a guard. You have the opportunity to lie for Sven or tell the guard where Sven is hiding. I recommend lying to the guard and protecting Sven, as this will lead to better rewards later in the game.

Sven location #2

After helping Sven, you can find him again in Vernworth after a few days have passed. While the number of days may differ for you, it took Sven three days to show up again in my game. Once he appears, you can find him at the location shown in the image below.

When you find Sven for the second time, he will ask you for some gold. You can either say yes and hand over the gold or deny his request. I recommend handing over 1,000 Gold if you have it, as this will progress the quest and lead to the rewards mentioned earlier.

Sven location #3

Like before, you now must wait a few days for Sven to reappear. Once a few days have passed, you can find Sven for the third time in Vernworth. His exact location is shown in the image below, right next to the city’s main fountain.

You will continue to meet Sven at this location until he pays you back in full. After speaking to him a few more times, you will have completed The Ornate Box side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Sven will reward you with Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches. These pieces of clothing allow you to enter the palace without the consequence of getting arrested.

After completing most of the main quests in Vernworth, after Sven pledges to your aid, someone will approach you and inform you that Sven wants to talk in his chambers. Strangely, this request doesn’t trigger a quest – or at least it didn’t for me – so you’re on your own when you need to find him.

When requested to meet Svern in his chambers, players can find him in Vernworth Castle after climbing the stairs to the second floor. The image below indicates Sven’s exact location.

After finding Sven, you will trigger the next quest, “A Veil of Gossamer Clouds,” where you must investigate the letter and report back to Sven.

Don’t worry, you can take your time with it since it’s not a time-sensitive quest.
