Where to find the Griffin in Final Fantasy 16

Where is the griffin location in Final Fantasy 16?

Throughout Final Fantasy 16, you can take breaks from the main story to hunt down beasts like the Griffin. To start, you need to ask Nektar about the Griffin and visit the Hunt Board in The Hideaway. Through the hints given there, you know that the Griffin is located between Lostwing and Caer Norwent, but where is the exact location of the Griffin in FF16? For that answer, you’ve come to the right place.

FF16: Griffin location, explained

Before you go searching for the Griffin, you can make extra gil by talking to August in the Hideaway who will guide you toward talking to Blackthrone at The Black Hammer. With that done, you’ll acquire the “Blacksmith Blues” side quest in which you’ll get rewarded extra for completing the Griffin hunt.

To find the Griffin in Final Fantasy 16, you need to fast travel to the Lostwing Obelisk in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. From here, travel southeast through the Norvent Valley toward Caer Norvent River Gate. You can slay the enemies along the way, but if you want to find the Griffin quickly, I advise you to push forward past the enemies.

Once you have reached the Caer Norvent River Gate, you’ll find the Griffin on the castle wall. A fight will ensue, but don’t be alarmed, because Dozmare the Griffin is a B-rank elite enemy which means he isn’t too difficult to take down. My advise is to dodge his attacks, stagger when possible, and use your abilities when the Griffin is down.

After defeating the Griffin, talk to the injured man nearby named Kamil to continue the “Blacksmith Blues” side quest. Then, return to Blackthorne in The Black Hammer and you’ll complete “Blacksmith Blues” and have bested the Griffin.

Your reward is 250 EXP (unless you have the Scholar’s Spectacles, in which case it’ll be more), 10 Renown, and Curiosity: Drakeslayer’s Belt Design Draft. Well done! Onto bigger and badder beast like the thing guarding Gelatinous Mass.
