To make Aurora.

There are tons of resources and materials in Starfield that are needed for crafting recipes. Some are easy to come by, while others may require other ways of scavenging. Take Chambass Oil, as an example. You may not think this resource is useful, but in reality you need it to create Aurora, a highly-illegal stimulant. If you’re interested in crafting up some Aurora in Starfield, let me explain where you can get Chambass Oil.

Starfield: How to get Chambass Oil

While there are a few other ingredients needed to create Aurora, Chambass Oil is the rarest to come by. There are two ways where you can get Chambass Oil in Starfield, which are by purchasing it from vendors, or looting it from Chambass fish.

These large aquatic animals swim in the waters below Neon, the city on Volii Alpha in the Volii system. But how can you get there? Head to the edges of Neon in the Ebbside district, and look down. You’ll notice the city is above a large ocean of water. Now just jump off! Make sure you have a working boost pack, and find somewhere where you can stand out of the water. I found this spot here with a little walkway over the water.

Now, take out your scanner, and you’ll notice some fish. Some are more predatory fish, but you should eventually see some Chambass. Shoot them, and their bodies will float to the surface. Since you can’t engage in combat while swimming, shoot the Chambass while on land, then hop into the waters to collect their goods. You’ll find Chambass Oil on their bodies.

Otherwise, if you don’t want to get your hands dirty, you can always purchase this oil from vendors. Places like the Trade Authority, Jemison Mercantile, and even Newill’s Goods in Neon sell Chambass Oil. Because of the rarity, they’ll be a little pricey.

Now you can finally make some Aurora! Well, it’s a little more complex than that. If you want to get the recipe for crafting this stimulant, read our guide on how to get Aurora.
