Fastest and easiest way to “Hire characters or revive squadmates” in Fortnite

Complete this lengthy quest in just a single match.

To unlock Korra’s glider in Fortnite, you’ll need to hire characters or revive teammates 20 times, which frankly, takes far too long to achieve normally. This guide details how to complete the “Hire Characters or revive squadmates” Quest in Fortnite as fast as possible.

How to quickly complete the “Hire characters or revive squadmates” Quest in Fortnite

Did you know that you can dismiss and rehire a hired character for free? That’s right! By hiring and dismissing the same character twenty times, you can complete the “Hire Characters or revive squadmates” Quest in a single match of Battle Royale or Zero Build.

Firstly, land near any hireable character. You can see their in-game locations by tracking the quest or using the map provided by the folks over at Fortnite.gg above.

I recommend choosing a character that isn’t close to a POI, such as Meowscles or Aphrodite, as you’ll need to stand still for a few minutes to complete the Quest. Remember to stock up to defend yourself, too!

Talk to your chosen character and hire them for 250 Bars. With your new friend hired, open team comms using F4 on PC or right d-pad on console. Then, navigate to follower comms and hold the button shown on the right to dismiss. No, I had no idea this existed until recently, either.

Every time a character is dismissed and rehired, you’ll gain credit towards the lofty Quest objective of hiring twenty characters.

This means you can complete the longest Quest of the season in just a single match—and the best part is that rehiring characters is completely free after the first payment.

Keep in mind that you need to be in the character’s spawn location to rehire them, as they’ll sprint back to their original spot when dismissed. As a shared quest, you can also speed up the process by inviting your friends to simultaneously hire and dismiss characters in other parts of the Island.

Alternatively, you can ask a friend to repeatedly knock themselves in a safe location while you revive them. It’s certainly repetitive, but everyone in the Squad gains Quest credit, making it easier to convince your buddies to jump on Fortnite to repeatedly die.

With that Quest out of the way, you can move on to completing even more Korra quests, such as hitting different enemies with Mythic weapons, or practicing your bending skills for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender event.
