How to get the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2023 armor ornament set for free

Time to get spooky.

It’s once again that time of the year when Destiny 2 starts to get a little spooky. The Festival of the Lost is a special Halloween-themed event in Destiny 2 that features a bunch of fun little things. These include a new Activity with Haunted Sectors, Eerie Engrams to collect, as well as a new set of armor ornaments. All of this stuff is free for every player of Destiny 2 to engage with so everyone can hop into the event. That means you can also get the new Festival of the Lost 2023 armor ornaments in Destiny 2 for free as well.

You can get the new Festival of the Lost 2023 armor ornaments in Destiny 2 by heading over to the Eververse store tab in the menu. Now I know that doesn’t sound too exciting since not everyone wants to spend money on new skins and ornaments. But you don’t have to spend any real money here. Each of the Festival of the Lost ornaments can be bought with Bright Dust. Now that’s not to say that each set is cheap. If you want to get a single set of these ornaments for your character, you’ll need to have 6,000 Bright Dust. And if you’re running with three characters, that’s a total of 18,000 Bright Dust to get all three.

Luckily there are plenty of ways to gain Bright Dust in Destiny 2 that don’t involve you spending any money. You just need to put in a lot of time to accrue all the Bright Dust you’ll need. Here are all the ways of getting Bright Dust in Destiny 2:

  • Seasonal Challenges
  • Season Pass Ranks
  • Weekly Event Bounties
  • Repeatable Bounties
  • Gifts/Bundles of Bright Dust

The best way to get a lot of Bright Dust in a Season is by completing the Season Pass. If you own the Season Pass you get just over 10,000 Bright Dust by completing each rank. Then you have Seasonal Challenges that can reward you with plenty of Bright Dust as well. Now if you’re just starting the Bright Dust grind in Destiny 2 from scratch during the Festival of the Lost 2023, you’ll probably only be able to get one of the armor ornament sets. But if you have plenty of time to grind through Destiny 2’s activities, you might have a fair shot.
