New to Season 3, you can now farm these dangerous trap-ridden dungeons for powerful loot. Here’s how to get started.

Diablo 4: How to unlock and access the Vaults

Unfortunately, you can’t just jump right into the Vaults upon entering Season 3 for the first time. You can unlock the Vaults in Diablo 4 Season 3 by completing the Seasonal questline “The Span of our Arms”. The 10th quest in the Season 3 questline will unlock four different Vaults for you:

  • Vault of Copper
  • Vault of Cinders
  • Vault of the Loom
  • Vault of Stone

AFter I leveled up further, I began to see more Vaults unlock, such as Vault of Ink. Before this quest, you’ll enter the Vault of the Loom for the first time and defeat Malphas, Keeper of the Vaults. Essentially, to access the new dungeons you must first get through a good chunk of the Season of the Construct quest.

After defeating Malphas, speak to Ayuzhan in the Gatehall, and you’ll finally unlock those four Vaults. This will also unlock the ability to attain Zoltun’s Warding using a Pearl of Warding before entering a Vault. This is a stacked blessing which by the end of your Vault run, if you keep at least one stack, you’ll earn yourself a Wardwoven Chest. Avoid hitting traps to keep up your blessing stacks.

By this point, you should also have a good amount of Governing and Tuning Stones to upgrade your Seneschal Companion a little bit. There are also all the Arcane Tremors around Sanctuary you can partake in to earn more Pearls of Warding.

Once you get to a high enough level, you can unlock Nightmare Vaults using Vault Sigils. These are only accessible at World Tier 3, and they’re even tougher versions of the Vaults. But with higher risks come higher rewards.
