Where to find the ESC Constant in Starfield after First Contact

Where is the ESC Constant after completing the First Contact mission Starfield?

After finding the ESC Constant orbiting Porrima II in the Porrima system, which is where you find Paradiso, you’ll need to resolve the First Contact mission. If you buy the grav drive for ESC Constant, they’ll leave Porrima II and be hard to track down. Here is how to find the ESC Constant in Starfield.

Two things: one, the ESC Constant constantly moves around. If one player finds it orbiting a planet, you might not find it there, and it’ll move to a random new spot after you leave.

Second, in my research, I discovered there is a bug with the Dear Sister quest, which is a quest that asks you to find the ESC Constant after completing First Contact, that keeps you from finding the actual location of the ESC Constant.

While we wait for Bethesda to fix this bug, there is a brute-force fix that’ll allow you to find the ESC Constant. You can float aimlessly among the stars hoping to find the ESC Constant or you can use this console command.

Thanks to a helpful Reddit thread, there is a specific console command you can use to spawn the ESC Constant right in front of you. If it wasn’t broken, the Dear Sister quest would navigate you to the ESC Constant, but the only fix for this buggy quest for now is this console command.

The console command to immediately find the ESC Constant in Starfield is “prid 002031e8.” Type that in, without the period, and the ESC Constant will be constructed right before your eyes. You’ll then be able to complete any quest you have associated with the ESC Constant.

After you leave, the ESC Constant will move to a random location, so if you need to quickly find the ESC Constant again, use the console command. Remember that using console commands disables achievements, but if that doesn’t matter to you, then go for it. Otherwise, there isn’t an easy way to find the ESC Constant in Starfield yet.
