Coral Island: How to catch the Yucca moth

Like a moth to a net.

The Yucca moth is one of many rare bugs in Coral Island, but how do you catch it? Finding these pesky bugs can be annoying if you don’t know where or when to look.

Most bugs have preferred seasons and times of day to show up. So if you’re looking to catch a Yucca moth, here’s how to do it.

Where to find a Yucca moth in Coral Island

This flying bug is one of the Day Insect offerings at the Catch Alter for the Lake Temple Offerings. Since this is a part of a main quest, you’ll likely want to find this insect at some point. You can catch the Yucca moth in Coral Island by looking during the Spring and Summer seasons, near the Town, Beach, and Hot Springs.

The Yucca moth also appears during the daytime but can show up in any type of weather. Just be warned that this is a rare bug, so you won’t often find it lurking around. It’s also hard to catch, meaning it’s sensitive to your footsteps and will flutter away fast once it knows you’re nearby.

The good thing about catching rare insects is the fact that once you own an Insect house, you can breed more Yucca moths! These buildings are expensive though, so you probably can’t afford it for a while.

As soon as you catch your first Yucca moth, I recommend you send it straight to the Lake Temple, just like the Arapaima fish. Then once you find your second, bring it to the museum for donation. Any other Yucca moth you spot should either be kept for your Insect house, or sold. At base price, it sells for 165 coins but will keep rising in price with increased quality.

Another good use for this moth is to be given as a gift. If you check our gift guide, you’ll realize that no one loves the Yucca moth, but Eleanor likes it. Everyone else hates it, so don’t even try giving it to the other NPCs.
