Does Cyberpunk 2077 have a new game plus?

Can I beat Cyberpunk 2077 and start the NG+?

Whether you’re new to Cyberpunk 2077 or are returning three years later to see if it’s improved, one thing you may want to know is if Cyberpunk 2077 has new game plus. A lot is changing with the big Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, but is it getting new game plus?

Is there new game plus in Cyberpunk 2077?

Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 still does not have new game plus, or NG+. If you’ve completed the main campaign of Cyberpunk 2077 with one save and want to start a new character because it’s been three years since you’ve played, you won’t be able to transfer all your weapons, gear, upgrades, and skills into a fresh new game plus file.

Especially in Cyberpunk 2077’s case with the Phantom Liberty DLC, new game plus is a feature that would be incredibly helpful. There are many people who have completed or got close to completing the main story in Cyberpunk 2077. If there was a new game plus feature, they’d be able to take everything they earned in their first playthrough and apply it into their second as they relearn the game, experience the 2.0 update, and get ready for Phantom Liberty.

The sad truth is that Cyberpunk 2077 may never get new game plus. Mike Tost, a lead designer at CD Projekt, tweeted a year ago that “NG+ for CP2077 is an incredibly complex feature to make.”

While I believe Miles Tost, almost every other studio puts new game plus into their game at some point, usually not even three years later. It seems achievable that Cyberpunk 2077 could have new game plus, but it doesn’t.

Cyberpunk 2077 new game plus mod

As always, modders have come in and done the developer’s work for them. There is a Cyberpunk 2077 mod that gives you a pseudo new game plus experience, but this will only work for PC players.

Go to the pseudo new game plus mod, thank maniman303 for creating it, and download and install the mod to enjoy a Cyberpunk 2077 new game plus experience.
