Is Asmongold’s Official Pawn available on all platforms?

While most Official Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are only available for a single platform, Asmongold’s Pawn is summonable on all three. Whether you play on PC, Xbox Series X/S, or PlayStation 5, you can bring Asmon’s balding simulacrum on your adventures in Vermund and Battahl.

To summon Asmongold’s Official Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2 on any platform, follow these steps:

  • Find and Examine a Riftstone, available in all towns and cities
  • Select Examine while inside the rift
  • Select View Unique Pawns
  • Select View Official Pawns
  • Find and select Asmongold
  • Select Summon Pawn
  • Walk up to Asmongold and Hail him
  • Select Hire

Asmongold has various Pawns available to hire at different levels, all with the same name, appearance, and Vocation. You need to spare a few RC to hire his high-level Pawn, but his lower-level equivalents are available for free from the beginning of the game.

Asmongold’s main Official pawn is a max-level Warrior with a remarkable resemblance to the man himself. He carries a Wounded Heart sword and wears Final Roar body armor with Diabolic Cuisses in the leg armor slot. Fortunately, his signature mountain of Wendy’s wrappers and Mountain Dew bottles is not included.

Asmon doesn’t wear head armor so as not to hide his handsome face and balding head, nor does he wear a cloak or any rings. Since he’s an Official Pawn, you aren’t able to equip him with different armor, but his lack of extra equipment means he’s incredibly useful for carrying heavy equipment.

Differences between normal and Official Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the majority of Pawns you encounter and summon belong to real players, reflecting the gameplay of their summoners — whether that’s alerting you to treasure found in another world or copying stratagem from their Arisen.

Official Pawns differ in that they’re created by Capcom, typically in collaboration with an influencer, and don’t directly belong to a player. As mentioned above, you can’t change an Official Pawn’s armor, and as much as you may want to send Zach some rotten meat, Official Pawns won’t hand gifts to their influencer’s Arisen. Their name is also displayed in a different color to regular Pawns.

It’s a good job that Official Pawns don’t permanently learn from other Arisen, as the instinct upon summoning Asmongold is to throw him into the Brine. That’s the very first thing the streamer himself did when summoning his lookalike for the very first time. I guess there can only be One True King. I’ll see myself out.
