The Last of Us concept artist trolls fans

Yesterday, ever fan of the brilliant The Last of Us had their hearts skip a beat when the key promotional artist for game, Marek Okon posted a picture of a piece of concept art which showed a slightly older Ellie apparently playing guitar.

It would be easy to assume this was a tease of a new game in the franchise since Okon posted the image with the words “Let me tease you something… Its coming… ;]” above it. Was this the first teaser for the hotly rumoured sequel to The Last of Us? Well no.

Outlast developer hints at a sequel

Recently I’ve started getting into horror games and when Outlast was released free to PS+ subscribers on the PS4 I decided to give it a go. Perhaps I should have started with something a little more tame because it turns out playing Outlast as your first horror game is like pushing a non swimmer into the deep end of a pool with a concrete block tied to his feet. Safe to say Outlast scared the *beep* out of me although I did manage to beat it I was a bag of nerves by the end. Now it seems there may be a round 2. Make the jump to find out more.

inFAMOUS sequels could be as varied as Assassin’s Creed

Last week inFAMOUS: Second Son was released exclusively on the PS4 and so far it has had great reviews. Ever since its debut on the PS3 back in 2009, the franchise has become a household name amongst gamers, as has its developer Sucker Punch.

Whilst speaking to OPM, Second Son director Nate Fox said he felt no shame in Sucker Punch being mainly known for inFAMOUS saying: “That’s a good curse to be saddled with. inFamous is a really broad concept – an everyday person gets powers and decides if they want to use them for good or evil. That could be anybody of any age, any gender, any time, any country. It’s as wide open as superhero fiction.”

The Last of Us movie will be an adaption of the game

Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us has confirmed that the upcoming movie will be an adaption of the game, rather than a spin off.

Whilst talking to IGN at last night’s BAFTA awards (which The Last of Us won five), Druckmann revealed that the movie will indeed be an adaption of the game which means that Joel and Ellie might well be on the big screen sometime soon.

“It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us,” he said. “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.”

The Last Of Us Developers Are Working On More MP DLC…And Something Else…

A few days ago, The Last of Us Creative Developer Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit. Of course they were asked hundreds of questions and replied to as many as they could. The answers they gave revealed some tantalizing clues as to what’s next for The Last of Us.

One fan asked the pair what they were currently working on and inquired as to whether or not there would ever be The Last of Us 2. Bruce Straley responded saying: “we’re working on the 3rd DLC drop for MP right now! …and maybe something else… we’ll see.”

Naughty Dog Is Considering The Last of Us 2

The Last of Us was without doubt one of the biggest games of 2013 and has absolutely set the bar as far as story and voice acting goes in gaming. The game itself told the story of Joel and Ellie, just two survivors trying to stay alive in a world gone to pieces. Since its great reception, many gamers have been wondering if there will be a sequel.

Whilst speaking to Eurogamer, writer and creative director, Neil Druckmann said: “We just wrapped up Left Behind, and Bruce Straley, the game director, and I have been doing this for over four years now. So it’s just time for a break, and to recharge the batteries,” he continued: “We have started brainstorming some stuff. To be honest, some of them are sequel ideas, and some of them are brand new IP – we’ve spent the last few weeks brainstorming new IP. So we have to get some good steps and see… It’s kind of like how we approached Left Behind. Can we tell people a story that’s really worth telling, and that’s not repeating itself? And if we can’t, where can we get inspired – what is something that’s really going to challenge us, and push storytelling in this medium forward?”
