Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will take inspiration from the books rather than the films

Many of the recent games that were set in Middle-Earth took inspiration from Peter Jackson’s interpretations of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books. Who can blame them? Jackson’s films are beloved by critics and fans alike and he certainly did a great job of bring Middle-Earth to life. The trailer makes it clear that this isn’t a game for kids and it looks like there’s some very mature themes going on here. As much as I loved Lego Lord of the Rings I think a darker Tolkien game will be great. Make the jump to check out the trailer.
