Borderland Pre-Sequel Is Coming

There have been many rumors going around about the possibility of another Borderland game, and when Gearbox Studio Head Randy Pitchford was asked, his response was pretty straight forward. “We are currently not working on Borderlands 3”. That is true, however what he didn’t mention, or comment on that another studio (2K Austrailia) was working on another Borderlands title. The Pre-Sequel will be sending four new vault hunters into space to battle low gravity, zero atmosphere, and raving, psychotic astronauts.

Thief and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Review Scores Not So Hot

After a very successful year in 2013, and the release of two brand new home consoles, many would expect 2014 to kick off with a bang, and showcase those beautiful new machines that fans may have gotten on launch day or Christmas.

Swinging in to kick off the new year are two franchises that have a substantial amount of success behind them. Today, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and the reboot of Thief were released and unfortunately the reviews for both have been less than stellar. With Thief averaging about a 69 on Metacritic, and Castlevania not doing much better and averaging about a 71 Metacritic score, it beacons us to wonder if these two franchises were rushed to the market. Keep in mind that Thief was the only one of the two games that was released to a next gen console, where Castlevania stuck to the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Review: Lighting Returns Final Fantasy XIII — A Majora’s Mask

Lightning. Connotation suggests that the character in its likeness elicits a strong response with gamers. Empowering, beautiful, strong, or just bland, shallow, and style over substance, all have been used to describe the titular matriarch. This is Lightning’s game and after fans claimed there wasn’t enough of her in the previous sequel, the star returns to play dress up, wield god like power and save our souls.

Blamed for the downfall of a series, its death even, the third game in the Fabula Nova Chrystallis saga heralds the conclusion to the most controversial chapter in Final Fantasy’s history. Amidst all the hurt feelings, betrayals and perceived sacrileges against the franchise, has the trilogy finally succeeded in validating its creators original vision? That depends on who you ask and by turning an already divisive formula on its head, Lightning Returns alters yet again what we know as an RPG today.

Also, what with the yearly gaming slump of January and February, why not go back and buy a game you never got round to and is now dirt cheap?
